Ian has over 30 years of experience in the field of independent business and tax valuations. His expertise stems from his tenure at HMRC’s Shares and Assets Valuation division (1976–1997), PwC’s valuation team (1997–2017), and executive “C” suite positions across various industry sectors with top and mid-tier companies (2018–2021). ​

Ian joined Touchstone Advisory at its inception in April 2021 and plays a critical role in leveraging over 40 years of valuation experience to support clients on all aspects of business and valuation-related matters.​

In addition, Ian has lectured and tutored extensively on tax and business valuation matters. He has also provided formal expert valuation opinions for court purposes, including shareholder disputes and divorce litigation.​

Outside his professional life, Ian is a keen golfer and maintains an active lifestyle by regularly attending the gym.
